The Self-Disgust Principle

As thoughts arise in our Awareness as a result of becoming Conscious, they may shock, scare, disgust or horrify us: “How can such terrible things be in my mind?”

There may be a temptation to avoid even doing clearings and letting go of such thoughts if they cause us embarrassment or shame when we acknowledge them.

However, if you don’t judge these things you can realise what this means: The very fact that such thoughts do disgust us, horrify us or make us feel ashamed is itself proof that they aren’t truly ours!

So The Self- Disgust Principle is curiously reassuring.
